Rules of BlockCommunity

This is the latest version of BlockCommunity's rules, dated and effective from 23rd July 2011. Our rules do not change often and we will notify you whenever we do.

Preamble

The rules of BlockCommunity are designed to promote the best quality of content and the highest levels of user happiness on BlockCommunity as possible, but are not concrete. The purpose of moderation is to use the least force to maintain a high quality community as well as the aforementioned principles, not to simply enforce rules. The rules are used to define who is harming the community, and as such, punishments will vary between the two ends of the spectrum: those who have contributed well to the community and have made a small slip up and those who have just joined and are trying to spam us with inappropriate content. Every rule comes with implicit exceptions, and unstated implications.

Rules

  1. Explicit content: Pornographic or excessively violent or gory content is not allowed.
  2. Profanity: Most profanity is not allowed on BlockCommunity and is automatically censored as such. Profanity is easy to offend with and can easily get out of control in a community that allows all profanities. We may allow some, such as those that are not censored, but use will be judged more on intent (e.g. directed profanity) than just that it has been used.
  3. Flaming: Flaming or impolite, unconstructive criticism is not allowed. Criticism should be constructive, and generally any argument designed simply to offend another community member will not be allowed.
  4. Exploiting: Exploits and bugs in the website or BlockCommunity-hosted games that can be used for personal gain or can be used to ruin the playing experience of others should not be repeated and instead should be reported as extensively and quickly as possible to a relevant staff member.
  5. Spamming: Spamming is not allowed; pointless or repetitive content should not be posted, and forum posts that do nothing to add to a thread, or are completely inappropriate or out of context, are considered spam.
